The Hunt is On For Microplastic Pollution

The hunt is on for microplastics in Operation Clean Sweep’s Nurdle Hunt 2024 Last week, Tangaroa Blue Foundation held the annual Operation Clean Sweep Great Nurdle Hunts in Sydney and Melbourne, jointly organised with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), Chemistry Australia, Dow Chemical and Viva Energy. Wasted Space – Tangaroa Blue presents innovative paper at INC-5 Global Plastic Treaty negotiations

Last week, delegates from around the world came together at the INC-5 Global Plastic Treaty negotiations in Busan, Republic of Korea. Volunteers cleared a mighty 7.3 tonnes of marine debris from the coastline for the 20th anniversary WA Beach Clean-up!

Over 2000 volunteers came together across 143 events for Tangaroa Blue Foundation’s 20th anniversary WA Beach Clean-up. During October, community groups, schools, businesses and individuals cleaned up more than 159 km of the coast!  The 7.3 tonnes of marine debris removed from the coastline makes a significant contribution to protecting WA’s marine environment. Volunteers Remove 49,000 Pieces of Marine Debris in the 2024 Great Barrier Reef Clean-up!

Rig Recycle Launches Tackle Back—A New Tool for Fishers to Combat Fishing Waste

This past Sunday, close to 250 volunteers joined Mandurah’s annual Luca’s Legacy community clean-up, removing a massive 400 kilograms of rubbish from local coastlines. The event also marked the launch of Tackle Back, a new tool for anglers that makes it easier to responsibly dispose of fishing waste, helping to keep our coastlines cleaner.
