About the role:
Tangaroa Blue Foundation works to prevent and remove marine debris in Australia and across regions. We use the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) framework to inspire behaviour change and innovation and empower communities, industry, and government to make data-driven decisions that improve ocean health.
Purpose of the role:
Support the delivery of Tangaroa Blue Foundation communications, including content creation, social media coordination, and assisting with marketing and media functions, as well as related administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the coordination of Tangaroa Blue’s social media presence through multiple accounts across different social platforms, including content creation (tiles, stories, reels, articles), scheduling, copywriting, community management, and social media analytics.
- Producing content for the Tangaroa Blue website, including events and blog articles.
- Design infographics and social tiles through Canva.
- Support TBF staff in promoting TBF and AMDI events and activities.
- Ensure the website and Facebook calendars are kept up to date.
- Assist in the implementation of a new CRM.
- Assist with other communications tasks as needed.
Essential requirements:
- Relevant experience in social media/communications, including content creation.
- Computer literacy in Google Suite, WordPress, Canva, and social media (Facebook, Instagram).
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Highly organised with demonstrated attention to detail and ability to problem solve independently.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working in conservation or for a non-profit organisation
- Computer literacy in HubSpot, LinkedIn, YouTube, Meltwater, Mailchimp or WordPress.
