Operation Straw

Operation Straw was originally designed to be a 3-month campaign starting in December 2017 and has now developed into a volunteer lead organisation who host regular events in Northern Beaches area where volunteers gather to jump in the ocean for a Strawkle (that’s a snorkel for straws).Their mission is to inspire everyday citizens to jump in the ocean for a Strawkle, and provide them with the tools needed to cut single-use plastic items like straws out of their life. Responsible Runners

Responsible Runners integrate running/walking with weekly cleanups to reduce marine debris, build stronger communities, and raise awareness about raise awareness about the health and environmental dangers of single-use disposable waste, particularly plastic, to effect positive behavioural change.
