Get Involved
There are many ways to get involved, from participating in one of our beach clean-ups to donation and adopting a sustainable lifestyle.
Volunteer
Come along and join one of our beach clean-ups or organise your own.
Check out our Events page or Facebook for Tangaroa Blue run events.
If a beach in your area needs a clean-up you can take action with the support from Tangaroa Blue. Remember, collecting the rubbish is great, but taking the data will have an even longer lasting effect as it helps to formulate solutions. For any questions and queries contact info@tangaroablue.org and we can advertise your event on our home page and on Facebook.

Donate
Want to be a part of Tangaroa Blue Foundation in a different way? Your donation will help us continue and expand the work that we are doing.
Donations can be project-specific to support upgrades to our AMDI Database or used to create a clean-up event in your area. Local schools often donate from their dress-up days.
Either way, ocean creatures far and wide will thank you and all donations over $2 are tax-deductible within Australia.

Database
You can contribute to Tangaroa Blue by submitting data and filling gaps in the map.
If you regularly walk your local beach, why not take some time to scour for marine debris and submit that data to the AMDI?
The AMDI Database has an open access policy enabling scientists, government agencies, communities and organisations to request data on marine debris in Australia for educational and research purposes. The data submitted is always owned by the contributor, however the Australian Marine Debris Database provides one place for all data to be housed, providing everyone involved in the marine debris issue one place to both access and submit data on marine debris.

School collaboration
School students from around the country have joined the Australian Marine Debris Initiative by adopting their local section of beach for on-going marine debris monitoring and removal, showing the next generation is dedicated to the protection of our marine environment.
If you are part of a school that would like to join the AMDI, get in touch with us. We may be able to provide schools with clean-up materials and visit your school for presentations, workshops and to help with beach clean-up events.
