VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN CAIRNS!!
Volunteers will assist in the sorting and recording of marine debris collected from a clean-up at Crystal Bay on Lizard Island. A member of the Tangaroa Blue team will assist volunteers with this process and explain how to correctly enter this important data into the AMDI database. No prior experience is necessary, our friendly team leaders will teach you everything that you need to know on the day.
We have a few bags left over from an island clean-up that took place at the end of last year to sort and enter into the Australian Marine Debris Database, so if you’re based around Cairns and you’re keen to lend us a hand then please email your interest to hannah@tangaroablue.org.
To enter into the facility where the sorting will take place, you must wear close-toed shoes, long pants and sleeves and bring along a reusable water bottle. There will be an induction into the facility in the morning before commencing. Further meeting details will be sent via email.

Please note this is a COVID Safe Event – we do require volunteers to register. Please ensure that you check the latest QLD Government COVID requirements and if you feel unwell, please don’t attend and stay at home, we’ll catch you at a future event.
