Join ReefClean, Special Envoy for the Great Barrier Reef, Senator Nita Green and Dawul Wuru Aboriginal Corporation and help prevent marine debris from entering the Great Barrier Reef!
During this event, you’ll be helping clean our beautiful beaches and waterways whilst also gathering important information for the Australian Marine Debris Initiative.
Following the collection of debris, volunteers will assist in the sorting and recording of all debris collected. A member of the Tangaroa Blue team will assist volunteers with this process and explain how to correctly enter this important data into the AMDI database. No prior experience is necessary, our friendly team leaders will teach you everything that you need to know on the day. This is a family-friendly event, fit for all ages! Feel free to come for the whole event or stay for just a portion!
Volunteers are asked to wear enclosed shoes, bring sun/rain protection, and plenty of drinking water (1 to 2 litres is recommended). We try to ensure that all events are free from single-use plastic, so bring along your reusable water bottle. All equipment and drinking water top-ups will be provided.
Tangaroa Blue would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
