Why phase out single-use coffee cup lids?
With single-use plastic items plaguing the Great Barrier Reef and waterways across Australia, in May this year, we ran an online ReefClean Source Reduction Plan Workshop looking at how to prevent litter, such as coffee cup lids, from ending up in the environment.
Although Covid-19 made reusable cup use problematic for some cafes, we wanted them to know help is here. So, to ensure the pandemic doesn’t cause a surge in single-use plastics, we developed a campaign for you to lose ya lid.
What can I do to help when ordering takeaway COFFEE?
Helping out couldn’t be easier.
- Ask a barista for a contactless pour into your reusable cup
- BYO reusable lid for single-use cups
- Refuse single-use plastic lids with a “flat no!”
