Westgate Park Big Clean-up for Clean Up Australia Day

Come along and help us spruce up Westgate Park this Clean Up Australia Day! 

ACF Community Macnamara is teaming up with Westgate Biodiversity and Tangaroa Blue Foundation for a big clean-up event at the beautiful Westgate Park Port Melbourne on Sunday, 1st March. We are holding this event along the narrow strip of Westgate Park, which runs alongside the Birrarung (Yarra River).

Revegetated and maintained over decades by volunteers, the park is an inspiring example of how a healthy ecosystem can be recreated within an urban environment. Bring your family and friends if you wish, or just come along to chat with other like-minded people!

At our clean-up event, a team of dedicated volunteer sorters and reporters will count and document the marine debris and litter removed from the park in the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) Database.

9:30 – 10:00 am              Registration

10:00 – 10:30 am            Introduction to the volunteer activities & safety briefing

10:30 am – 12:15 pm    Clean up activity

12:15 pm – 12:30 pm    Help Sort & Report Squad finalize the count!

12:30 pm – 12:45 pm    Time to Celebrate our impact!
