ReefClean – Walker Bay Clean-up, Cooktown Expo 2021

Join us for this special Cooktown Expo 2021 clean-up event!

If you would like some quiet time away from the excitement of the Expo festivities, come down to Walker Bay Beach for a morning beach clean-up less than 10 minutes out of town.
Join South Cape York Catchments and Tangaroa Blue Foundation to help clean this beautiful beach whilst also gathering important information for the Australian Marine Debris Initiative.

The team will meet at the Walker Bay Beach carpark at 8:30 am. The clean-up will finish at 10:30 am so you can still be back in town in plenty of time to see the Regional Street Parade at noon.

Volunteers need to wear enclosed shoes, bring sun/rain protection, and drinking water. We try to ensure that all events are free from single-use plastic, so bring along your reusable water bottle. All equipment and drinking water top-ups will be provided.
