ReefClean: Bustard Bay (South) Community Clean-up

What: Bustard Bay (South) Community Beach Clean-Up
When: Sunday 24th October 2021 1 pm – 4 pm
Where: LARC Tours, 1770 Marina, 535 Captain Cook Drive, Town of 1770
To Register: Please email ian@tangaroablue.org to register your interest

Join us 1pm Sunday 24th October at LARC Tours, 1770 Marina, 535 Captain Cook Drive, Town of 1770 for registration and briefing followed by departure aboard the iconic LARC from the marina at 1:30pm and returning by 4pm.

We will travel across Eurimbula Creek to Bustard Bay (South) Beach where we will proceed to collect marine debris which will then be sorted, counted and entered into the Australian Marine Debris Initiative Database

The clean-up data you collect will help us track litter to its source and prevent it from entering the waste stream and harming our Great Barrier Reef.

Volunteers need to wear enclosed shoes, bring sun/rain protection, and plenty of drinking water (1 to 2 litres is recommended). We try to ensure that all events are free from single-use plastic, so bring along your reusable water bottle. All equipment and drinking water top-ups will be provided.

We would like to acknowledge the Port Curtis Coral Coast people, the Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng and Tarabilang Bunda as Traditional Custodians of the land on which we meet and would also like to pay our respects to the elders past, present, and emerging.

———————————————–Please note this is a COVID Safe Event – we do require volunteers to register. Please ensure that you check the latest QLD Government COVID requirements and if you feel unwell, please don’t attend and stay at home, we’ll catch you at a future event.
