Phillip Island Environmental Stewardship Meeting
Join us to discuss the environmental stewardship of Phillip Island’s beaches.
Join us on December 6th, 2024, at the Penguin Parade as we bring together beachcombers, environmental groups, and passionate community members to discuss the future of beach clean-up monitoring on the island.
When: 10am – 12pm December 6th, 2024
Where: Penguin Parade Education Space 2, 1019 Ventnor Rd, Summerlands VIC 3922
The goal of this gathering is to identify one or two beach clean-up sites that can be registered as official monthly or quarterly monitoring locations for marine debris. By aligning our efforts with national monitoring sites across Australia, we aim to strengthen our data collection on marine debris, improve our understanding of debris patterns, and contribute to ongoing environmental conservation efforts.
PURPOSE
Your involvement in this initiative will help:
- Establish regular monitoring to track and reduce marine debris on Phillip Island.
- Strengthen data collection efforts and contribute valuable insights the national Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) Network.
- Ensure the continued health of our local beaches and marine ecosystems.
WHY YOUR VOICE MATTERS
We would love for you to join us, share your insights, and help shape this important environmental effort. Together, we can make a real difference in the ongoing protection of our beautiful beaches.
Please RSVP by 5th December to confirm your attendance. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to whitney@tangaroablue.org
