The ReefClean team from Tangaroa Blue will once again be heading to Goolboddi Island (Orpheus Island) for our twice-yearly clean-up.

We will clean-up several beaches over four days by removing, sorting and recording rubbish items from this island and entering it into the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) Database.

Join our team of volunteers who will be working with Orpheus Island Research Station, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Absolute North Charters for a multi-site clean-up, with funding support from the Morris Foundation.

We will meet at Taylor’s Beach in the morning on Friday 24th of September for transfer to the island and return on Monday the 27th.

Spaces are limited so please contact mathilde@tangaroablue.org to:
1. Express an interest in this event
2. Find out more information, including transfer (departure/return) times, what you will need to bring etc

We would like to acknowledge the Manbarra Aboriginal people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we will be meeting for this event.

ReefClean is funded by the Australian Government’s Reef Trust and delivered by the Tangaroa Blue Foundation.
All our events comply with Government COVID 19 restrictions current at the time of the event, so participation will depend on the travel restrictions in place at the time. Tangaroa Blue will be adhering to the latest advice from the QLD Government on COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines. (https://www.qld.gov.au/…/curre…/public-health-directions).
Volunteers from identified COVID-19 hotspots in the final two weeks before the event will not be able to participate in this event. If you feel unwell – please don’t attend and stay at home – we’ll catch you on another event later in the year
