Lend a hand at our big community beach clean-up… everyone’s welcome!

Volunteers will work alongside local partners to remove marine debris from iconic sites including Joey Lees and Turtle Street, while enjoying great company, community spirit and hearty meals thanks to the support of our partners.

Camping, barge transfers and meals are all covered by Tangaroa Blue Foundation and our partners.

Curtis Island is the second largest island in Queensland, with a large proportion of the island designated as National Park. The island borders the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and has significant turtle nesting habitat, wetlands and mangrove systems important for fish and bird life.

Volunteers need to wear enclosed shoes, bring sun/rain protection, and plenty of drinking water (1 to 2 litres is recommended). We try to ensure that all events are free from single-use plastic, so bring along your reusable water bottle. All equipment and drinking water top-ups will be provided.

We would like to acknowledge the Port Curtis Coral Coast people, (the Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng and Tarabilang Bunda groups) as Traditional Custodians of the land on which we meet, and would also like to pay our respects to the Elders both past, present and emerging.
