Government releases “Drowning in Waste” Report In December 2022, Tangaroa Blue Foundation wrote a submission to the Senate Inquiry into Plastic Pollution in Australia’s Oceans and Waterways. This submission resulted in Heidi Tait, Tangaroa Blue Foundation’s CEO, providing evidence at a public hearing in Canberra for this Inquiry in March 2023. ReefClean Program Extended to 2027!

The DCCEEW announced that Tangaroa Blue Foundation, along with ReefClean partners, were successful in the competitive Great Barrier Reef Marine Debris Management and Mitigation Grant opportunity. From Water to Courts: Rec Fishing and Tennis Unite

What does recreational fishing and tennis have in common? Both sports are now diverting line and string to the Australian Marine Debris Initiative circular economy source reduction projects!   We recently wrapped up a successful string recycling pilot in collaboration with Tennis Australia during the Australian Open in Melbourne and the Brisbane International in January. Yoghurt manufacturer admits “100% ocean plastics” claims misled consumers

South Australian yoghurt manufacturer MOO Premium Foods [1] has agreed to stop using the term “100% ocean plastics” after an investigation by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission found the company’s use of the term was misleading.   The ACCC announced today that MOO had entered into a court-enforceable undertaking to remove the false or misleading “100% ocean plastics” claims from its marketing materials and to publish corrections on its website and social media accounts for 60 days.
