From 2025, Tangaroa Blue will be joining Ship4Good on board the MV Steve Irwin for marine debris education, awareness and clean-up missions across Australia. The expeditions will facilitate the collection of cutting-edge marine debris data for entry into the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) Database, host scientific research and community outreach activities and bring ocean literacy education and awareness programs to remote areas.
The MV Steve Irwin, once equipped for its new mission will have the capacity to remove up to 50 tonnes of marine debris on each mission, allowing Tangaroa Blue to supercharge our efforts to prevent and remove marine debris from Australian and regional waters.
