Title: Senior Operations Officer

Tangaroa Blue Foundation is an Australia-wide not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the removal and prevention of marine debris: one of the major environmental issues worldwide. We do this by removing what’s already out there, stopping the flow of litter into the ocean and reducing the amount of waste produced.
Purpose of Role:
- Support the CEO in administrative and logistical matters for the successful delivery of the AMDI projects and events including grant deliverables.
- Provide expertise around the logistical aspects of projects.
- Oversee staffing requirements for the delivery of events and projects.
Key accountabilities:
- Monitoring, performance tuning, and ensure key deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
- Develop strategies to ensure the appropriate resourcing of the projects at all times.
- Support the resourcing of projects.
- Manage all community and stakeholder enquiries in a professional manner.
- Prepare necessary presentation material to support stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure TBF policies and procedures are enforced across all project operations.
- Ensure that all project staff adhere to and document all necessary processes and information.
- Ensure reports are prepared to agreed standards and are delivered on time and in full.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide pragmatic solutions.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and make appropriate judgement calls with the best interest of projects and personnel safety always front of mind.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Build a cohesive and productive team comprising of TBF employees and volunteers.
- Monitor project consumables and expenses.
- Ensure all project staff and volunteers operate within a strong safety culture and implement Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- Document and complete action items from meetings.
- Always protect TBF’s reputation.
- Other duties across TBF consistent with the position level, as required.
Essential requirements:
- Degree qualified in a relevant field or 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Approved First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Blue Card – Working with Children.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with delivering projects in a not-for-profit environments.
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal and State Government policies relating to volunteers.
- Knowledge of and experience in working with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Australian South Sea Islander, and other minority groups.
