FNQ Great Barrier Reef Island Hop Clean-up

What: Far North Queensland Great Barrier Reef Island Clean-up
Where: Several island locations between Port Douglas and Cooktown
When: 9th-11th November, 2020
To register: Please email mathilde@tangaroablue.org
Registrations are now open for an amazing opportunity to clean-up some of those hard to get to islands and bays of Far North Queensland. This trip will include a small group of volunteers travelling with Wavelength Reef Cruises to clean-up several locations between Port Douglas and Cooktown over three days. Depending on the weather, we plan to go to the Hope Islands, Cedar Bay and a couple more islands in between.
The weather is likely to be very hot and there will be a lot of getting on and off boats, in remote areas so you will require a good level of fitness and agility to be part of this event.
We will sleep on the Wavelength vessel, but it is not technically a liveaboard so you will need to bring a swag or mattress to sleep on along with your other bedding. Food will be provided by Tangaroa Blue and we will all prepare it together onboard the boat. We will also provide all gear necessary for the clean-up so all you need to bring is your sleeping gear, sun safe clothing and a reusable water bottle. A suggested packing list will be provided after you register.
Please email mathilde@tangaroablue.org for further information and to register your interest.
Places are strictly limited so get in early to secure your place!
Please note this is a COVID Safe Event – we do require volunteers to register by emailing mathilde@tangaroablue.org – and please ensure that you check the latest QLD Government COVID requirements – https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19. If you feel unwell, please don’t attend and stay at home, we’ll catch you at a future event.
