When: May 4th 2018 from 8:00am to 4:00pm
Where: Meet at Aplin’s Weir Rotary Park

Site 1 - Aplin’s Weir Rotary Park; Site 2 – Mangroves near the Port Access Road Bridge

Join Tangaroa Blue Foundation on the 4th of May 2018 for their second monitoring clean-up event along the Ross River at Aplin’s Weir and a mangrove system near the Port Access Road Bridge. The data will continue measuring how much litter, in particular plastic bags and drink containers, are ending up in Townsville waterways before and after the Container Refund Scheme and Plastic Bag Ban are implemented on July 1st 2018.

As a participant you will need:
1. To be available for the whole day as we’ll be tackling 100m transects at both sites in one day
2. To be comfortable with data collection
3. To being a reusable water bottle and lunch
4. To wear enclosed sturdy footwear, a hat, sunnies, sunscreen and sun smart clothing

What’s provided:
5. Extra water, sunscreen and bug spray
6. Clean-up and safety equipment
7. Drinks and snacks
