Thanks to the dedicated ocean lovers who have wasted no time in registering to get involved in the annual clean-up and audit event on 13 & 14 October. Now in its 14th year, the WA Marine Debris Project is on track to break last year’s record of 137 registered sites across Western Australia.
Whether you are a keen citizen scientist, belong to a school, community or family/friends group we are calling on you to get involved and enlist others at your clean-up event at your favourite beach or waterway sometime over the October 13-14 weekend.
Formerly named the WA Beach Clean-up Event, our new name reflects the important role of data collection in the clean-up process. We rely on the data you collect to help us track litter to its source and prevent it from entering the waste stream and harming our environment.
We look forward to your involvement once again. Register now and receive your clean-up kit by mail (bags and sharps containers are provided as well as insurance if you need it and audit sheets). Some gloves are provided but we encourage volunteers to bring their own).
Thanks to our awesome event sponosors and local government partners for their support
