DESCRIPTION:Where: Mapoon (departing from Cairns)\nWhen: 13th to 21st June 2026\nRegister by emailing: ebony@tangaroablue.org ( mailto:jessica@tangaroablue.org )\nJoin Tangaroa Blue Foundation, the Old Mapoon Aboriginal Corporation (OMAC), and the Mapoon Land and Sea Rangers as we head north to tackle marine debris on the beautiful beaches of Mapoon.\nOver five days, we’ll roll up our sleeves to remove and sort debris, helping to keep this stunning coastline clean and contributing important data to the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) Database. Together, we can protect the Cape York coastline from marine debris!\nThe Journey:We’ll depart from Cairns early and travel as a group to Archer River, where we’ll camp for the night. With scenic stops along the way, there’ll be plenty of chances to snap some photos and stretch our legs before we arrive at Cullen Point—our base for the clean-up.\nSchedule:\n\nSat 13th June: Cairns > Archer River\nSun 14th June: Archer River > Mapoon\nMon 15th – Fri 19th June: Beach clean-up\nSat 20th June: Mapoon > Hann River\nSun 21st June: Travel to Cairns\n\nCamping & Facilities:We’ll be camping at Cullen Point, where facilities include toilets and cold showers. Be prepared for mosquitoes and sandflies—long sleeves and insect repellent are a must!\nTangaroa Blue will provide:\n\nClean-up gear and equipment\nAll meals during the five-day camp\nA rewarding and unforgettable experience\n\nWhat to bring:\n\nYour personal camping gear (tent, mattress, sleeping bag, pillow, etc.)\nSun protection and insect bite protection\nRefillable water bottle and your camera if you’d like to capture the journey!\n\nGot a 4WD?You’re welcome to join our convoy or meet us at Mapoon—just let us know when you register!\nLimited seats available – register early to secure your spot!\nWe will be working on the traditional land and sea country of the Tjungundji People, and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.\n
