DESCRIPTION:Join Tangaroa Blue and the Woppaburra TUMRA for a community clean-up on around the Keppel’s! All marine debris will be analysed and the data will be uploaded to the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) Database.\nWhat: Beach Clean-up at Woppa Island (Great Keppel)\nWhen: Saturday 7th October, 2023\nTime: 8am – 3pm\nRegister: Numbers are strictly limited so please RSVP by 25th September 2023shelly@tangaroablue.org.\nMeet at Keppel Bay Marina (Waterline Restaurant side) to travel on theGundoo Spirit departing at 8am sharp. Return time is approximately 3:00pm. Lunch provided. BYO Snacks and drinks.\nThis trip is going to be extra special as we have theopportunity to learn about the Biocultural values of Woppaburra Sea Country from Woppaburra TUMRA representatives.\nWe will be beach hopping around Keppel Bay island group, collecting marine debris and bringing it back on board the Gundoo Spirit.\nVolunteers need to wear enclosed shoes, bring sun/rain protection, and plenty of drinking water (1 to 2 litres is recommended). We try to ensure that all events are free from single-use plastic, so bring along your reusable water bottle. All equipment and drinking water top-ups will be provided.\nWe would like to acknowledge the Woppaburra and Darumbal people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we will be meeting for this event.\nThank you to Livingstone Shire Council and the Konomie Island Environmental Education Centre for their support to make this event happen as well as our supporters.\nReefClean is funding by the Australian Governments Reef Trust and delivered by the Tangaroa Blue Foundation.\n
