DESCRIPTION:What: Orpheus Island Multi-day Clean-up\nWhere: Meet at Taylors Beach for transfer to the island\nWhen: 24th-27th September 2021\nTo Register: mathilde@tangaroablue.org\n**Please note this event is almost at capacity, but we still encourage you to register to be on the waiting list**\nThe ReefClean team from Tangaroa Blue will once again be heading to Goolboddi Island (Orpheus Island) for our twice-yearly clean-up.\nWe will clean-up several beaches over four days by removing, sorting and recording rubbish items from this island and entering it into the Australian Marine Debris Initiative (AMDI) Database.\nJoin our team of volunteers who will be working with Orpheus Island Research Station, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Absolute North Charters for a multi-site clean-up, with funding support from the Morris Foundation.\nWe will meet at Taylor’s Beach in the morning on Friday 24th of September for transfer to the island and return on Monday the 27th.\nSpaces are limited so please contact mathilde@tangaroablue.org to:\n1. Find out more information, including transfer (departure/return) times, what you will need to bring etc\nWe would like to acknowledge the Manbarra Aboriginal people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we will be meeting for this event.\nReefClean is funded by the Australian Government’s Reef Trust and delivered by the Tangaroa Blue Foundation.\n——————————\nAll our events comply with Government COVID 19 restrictions current at the time of the event, so participation will depend on the travel restrictions in place at the time. Tangaroa Blue will be adhering to the latest advice from the QLD Government on COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines.
