MacKillop College Busselton

MacKillop Catholic College is a co-educational secondary school with an enrolment of MacKillopabout 580 students in Years 8 to 12 and a strong focus on Pastoral Care. The College motto urges us to 'Choose Life' in its fullness, not only for ourselves but also for others; to value life in all its forms, and to faithfully commit ourselves for life to the things that are life giving.

Subjects offered at MacKillop endeavour to meet the needs of all students and encourage a balance between intellectual, social, spiritual, physical and creative dimensions of life. Students receive individual counselling prior to and throughout senior school aimed at tailoring a study pathway to match each student's ability and aspirations for TAFE, University, or the workforce. Nationally recognised qualifications are also built into a number of our senior school courses.
Co-curricular activities aim to nurture the skills, gifts and talents of students competitively and in service to the community and each other. An integral Service Learning Programme begins in Year 8, developing throughout their time at the College.

MacKillop Students Complete Community Service

201411 MacKillopOn Wednesday November 5th, Tangaroa Blue joined MacKillop Catholic College for a clean-up along a section of Busselton foreshore. The Yr 10 students were fulfilling their community service requirements for the year and enjoyed the opportunity to get out of the classroom.

We removed over 100kg of rubbish from the foreshore area, the majority of the weight compromising pieces of bitumen (asphalt) from old roads and pathways in the area that have been eroded as the ocean has encroached on the shoreline.

Students then collated all data for submission into the Australian Marine Debris Database.
