Come along to Snapper Island for a beach clean-up and learn how to collect data for the Australian Marine Debris Database. The AMDI Database is used to push for change at community, industry and government levels that stop the flow of rubbish and debris into our oceans.

We'll be meeting at the Wavelength shop at the Port Douglas Marina at 8am.

Seats are strictly limited, so you'll need to book via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

All clean-up materials will be provided, along with extra drinking water.

Volunteers need to wear enclosed shoes that they don't mind getting wet (like old runners). You'll also need to bring a lycra/stingersuit (this is mandatory for all volunteers - you can rent one at  Wavelength at the Marina if you don't have your own), a reusable water bottle, sun protection, lunch and snacks, and lots of energy.

The boats will return to Port Douglas between 3-4pm, depending on how much debris we find.

The island has a windward rocky section, and a sand section. Please let us know which side of the island you would like to work on - those that are sure footed mountain goats are only recommended for the rocky section!

This event is being supported by Wavelength Reef CruisesShapes in the Sand, and the Douglas Shire Council.
