When: 22nd April 2017 from 8:00am to 1:00pm
Where: Aplin’s Weir Rotary Park
If you’re looking for a way to start one of your April weekends, head to Aplin’s Weir Rotary Park on the 22nd for an 8:00am clean-up along the Ross River with Tangaroa Blue Foundation and Townsville City Council.
You’ll find Aplin’s Weir accommodates for all; habitats for fish and waterbirds, the growth of rich riparian vegetation, as well as a range of activities for the recreational soul. The area is of high conservation value that is also culturally and spiritually valued. The river links our actions on land to the ocean, so come help us protect our oceans by removing the intoxicating litter and washed in marine debris from this breathtaking environment.
As a participant please bring a reusable water bottle/camelbak and wear sturdy enclosed footwear, hat, sunnies, sunscreen and sun smart clothing. Gloves, extra water and snacks will be provided on the day as well as all clean-up and safety equipment. The event will end with a BBQ lunch around midday to wrap up the morning.
This project is supported through funding from the Australian Government's National Landcare Programme.
